These are great for the most part, but one important note:
if you are coloring on your skin, it is really important NOT to use red.
I know, that seems counterintuitive. I understand the urges, and the intense desire to see red, but it is actually incredibly counterproductive.
According to my fabulous genius of a therapist, using red ink/paint/dye on your skin tricks your brain and your self injury addiction into thinking you actually cut yourself again. This is not at all what you want if you’re striving for recovery, because it’s just reinforcing the neuropathways that are triggering you in the first place.
So use red on paper, and green/blue/purple/yellow on your skin!
